Roddenberry Films is making a 360degree film

Not many people will have seen a movie like this before. And Even when its done, i don't know how many will because it can't be screened in regular theatres, has to be viewed on a computer screen where you can pan left or right like this.. or in a dome/cylindrical theatre.

Anyway so basically Gene Roddenberry(father of star trek)'s son and Roddenberry studios is producing "White Room: 02B3," a film by director Greg Aronowitz that will have a cast of six, including David Blue (Eli of Stargate Unicerse). The film will be shot with 9 cameras shooting simultaneously to get a 360degree high-quality panoramic video with no gaps or distortion. The other stars in the cast are Breckin Meyer, Rachel True, Milynn Sarley and Tony Janning.

heres an interview with Trevor Roth, the COO of Roddenberry Entertainment, about the film:

A long time ago in a land far far away(to be specific - while i was studying design at Srishti) i worked on a 360degree short film with some friends. we shot it on a single camera using a hemispheric lens that gave us circular footage that was later processed into a strip.. creating this weird/cool distortion.

heres the only copy i have of it (after the preloader gets to 100%, click the arrow to play):

This short film was put together by Ekta Manchanda, Seema Seth, Arun Rajendran, Arvind Prabhakar, Vaibhav Bhawsar, Gaurabh Mathure and myself.
We had taken part in a 360°video workshop with Michael Saup at the Max Mueller Bhavan Bangalore.
