finally i decided to just run the disc with my net connected.. halfway through, it miraculously recognised the DVD in the tray and started "installing from disk" .
about 45min later it asked for disk2 and then continued the installation.
During my earlier attempts it used to abort during the disk change.
So now i have the "launch game" option enabled
however all i get is this
and then this
so basically i still have to wait for some more updates to happen before i can play.
