Bangalore means different things to different people.
Bangalore means different things to different people.
Now 18 artists and writers have come together to present their kaleidoscopic versions of the city through 9 stories.
This is a city where the sum is greater than the parts, this is a vision which melds past, present and future.
The contributors range from those born and brought up in the city as well as passing travellers; from those who lost their hearts there as well as those who found the city's secret heart.

3d printed phone case
So I got a new phone this month, a Lenovo P2. The phone is epic, you can google it, this is not a tech spec post. The only problem I had was with finding decent phone cases. Since this is a very recent model and not really flagship, only a few case makers are catering to it.
So i turned to 3d printing. Found a template for it on my first google search - made by Marijn van den Heuvel and available at https://grabcad.com/library/lenovo-p2-case-1
I downloaded the stl file and took it to Blender.. I needed something quick and simple, so I could print a test quickly and see if the case fit correctly.

This Bible verse has been one of my favorites for a long time ..
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." - Matthew 6:34
Vincent has set up his maker space at the Falana Films studio, and printed this out on his Makerbot.. In dual color! I left the color selection to him and was quite satisfied with the results -
on the printer..
after some cleaning and sanding..

The Rocinante finally gets a proper space battle
The Rocinante finally gets a proper space battle! Season 2 of The Expanse started off with a big bang! The crew puts together a raiding party and boards a space station.. after fighting tooth and nail against a big bad stealth ship!
Here are some highlights:
The amount of thought the production team put into the space battles is staggering..
case in point -
Even in the future armor plating is still too heavy to have on a space craft.. so when going into battle, depressiorise and store your air in tanks.. and cross your fingers as bullets swiss cheese the ship
\
Oh and I just discovered that #Syfy has an official #Thingiverse page with downloadable print files for stuff from their shows - http://www.thingiverse.com/Syfy/designs #expanse wow!!

This made my day
A day after the harrowing night when I rescued an injured dog.. only to have it put down, because its injuries were too severe. (previous post)
I get to work and find this amazing card on my desk.
A belated birthday card from illustrator Kaveri Gopalakrishnan.
Made my day :)
