possible "blood phone" in my pocket :(

found these videos through Nicholas Kristof's article Death by Gadget at the NYTimes

“Blood diamonds” have faded away, but we may now be carrying “blood phones.” An ugly paradox of the 21st century is that some of our elegant symbols of modernity — smartphones, laptops and digital cameras — are built from minerals that seem to be fueling mass slaughter and rape in Congo.

so anyway... most of our cellphones and laptops have conflict minerals in them. If you want manufaturers to stop using these minerals or source them from elsewhere, you can tell them by clicking below:
